Assign an Email

Email can be assigned to a specific person. This can be useful in distributing incoming emails to a department, and to assure that mail is responded to in a timely manner.

PROCEDURES:

  • Highlight the email message from the list
  • Click the Assign button from the toolbar
  • From the pull-down list,click on the name of the assignee
  • A confirmation message will display across the top of the list

NOTE (Standard and Premium accounts): You cannot assign a messages to a user who does not have permission to access the mailbox where the message resides.

View Assigned Messages

Use the pull-down menus to show messages assigned to you for all mailboxes, or a specified mailbox.

TIP: Maintain Assignments

Account owners can choose to Maintain Assignments in the Account (Billing) settings. This option automatically assigns incoming messages in an ongoing conversation to the user who sent the most recent message.
