Filter Email

The left side of the Inbox tab contains options for filtering your email conversations by mailbox or assignee. For more advanced filtering, use the built-in Search functions.

Choose a mailbox

  • Click the arrow under View conversations in and click to select a named folder.
  • The Message list will, by default, show all conversations in the Inbox of that folder assigned to anyone.

Messages are shown in order received, with newest emails at the top.

Choose an assignee

  • Click the arrow under assigned to and click to select an assignee.
  • Note that options include "Me," "Anybody" and "Nobody" as well as other named users of your account.

The Message list will update to show only conversations matching both the mailbox and assignee selected.

Choose a folder

Each mailbox contacts an Inbox, Archive, Sent, Spam, and Trash folder. By default, the Message list shows contents of the Inbox for the selected filter criteria.

  • Click a folder name (Inbox, Archive, etc.) to show only messages residing in that folder

The Message list will update to show conversations in that folder which match your mailbox and assignee criteria (see above)

NOTE: You can recover a conversation from the Trash or Archive folder back to the Inbox, if necessary. Deleted messages are available for recovery for 30 days.

Choose a tag

Tags are ways of marking conversations with common themes, outside of the standard assignee, subject line, or mailbox criteria. They help you to easily see related conversations.

  • Click a tag name to see conversations with that tag

The Message list will show all messages with that tag matching the mailbox, assignee, and folder criteria specified above.

NOTE: If you change your settings for mailbox, assignee, or folder after clicking a tag, you will have to re-click the tag to apply the filter to the new set of criteria.
